Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

Welcome to Oak Grove Elementary, a place where every child is known, valued, and challenged to grow. I am so proud to lead this school, and I am grateful every day for the dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive families that make Oak Grove such a special place.

At Oak Grove, we believe that every child is unique and deserves an education tailored to their individual needs, interests, and abilities. Our experienced and passionate educators work tirelessly to create a positive, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow — not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. We are committed to building strong character alongside strong academics, and we work hard to make sure every child who walks through our doors knows they belong here.

We are proud to be part of the Poplar Bluff R-I School District and to have the support of a community that believes in our students. Our facilities — including a modern library, computer lab, gymnasium, and playground — give our kids the resources they need to explore, discover, and thrive.

About Our School

Oak Grove Elementary serves students in grades K-3 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Oak Grove has built a reputation as one of the finest elementary schools in the state — and has the accolades to back it up.

Oak Grove was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2019 — the highest honor an educational institution can achieve — and has earned recognition as a National ESEA Distinguished School on multiple occasions. Oak Grove is consistently ranked among the top elementary schools in Missouri by U.S. News & World Report, with students performing above both district and state averages in math and reading.

Oak Grove is a Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) school, achieving the Gold Level of Excellence for its implementation of school-wide behavior supports. The school is also a proud Professional Learning Community, where staff collaborate daily around data-driven instruction and best practices to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed — academically, socially, and emotionally.

Beyond the classroom, Oak Grove is known for engaging traditions that bring learning to life, including the annual Famous Missourians Living Museum and a long-running spelling bee tradition that has produced county champions year after year.
